Change is in the air at Fort Henry Mall and I Love Books

T. Glen Moody, Ph.D., Curator • Nov 5, 2018 at 4:30 PM

If you've been by recently, you noticed lots of great changes inside and outside the Fort Henry Mall. The Sears building is gone, there are two new eateries, Dunham Sports is looking great, and there is lots of new signage and murals inside as well as attractive new signage outside at the entrances to the mall. Landscaping has removed some of the Bradford Pear trees that obstructed the visibility at the parking lot's entrances and we're all gearing up for a big Christmas season.

At I Love Books Bookstore we're leasing another warehouse (this makes three) to improve logistics for the several new and used books that we receive each week. We now have over 400 different categories of books in very specific genres, including several categories that you would normally find in a very large bookstore or from academic publishers. Our prominent side lines still include local honey, organic herbs and spices, over 300 different kinds of teas, and our very popular line of essential oils.

You may not know that we discount many of the new popular and bestselling novels from $28 and $30 to just $19.95. That's one of the many ways we are able to compete with the big guys. Most of our bestselling kids books sell for $3.99 and $4.99 and we have used ones at about half those prices.

Other stores in the mall and in the region often refer customers to us for our wide variety of new and used books and other unique products. Some of our recently expanded categories include Philosophy (we have added about 200 more titles in the past month); our cookbook selection where we now have about 1,200 titles; and our very active sections of "vintage" collectible comics and "classic" vinyl record albums from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

We have a very attractive line of individual greeting cards and will soon be receiving boxed Christmas cards for the 2019 season. Our calendars include wall size, engagement calendars, page-a-day calendars, and two year planners. Lang Calendars are our bestselling line and we have a great selection of them right now at discount prices.

Watch our ads in Sunday Stories each week for advertised specials and drop by the bookstore for our many unadvertised promotions and special prices. Don't miss our library carts at the entrance with 'gently-used' hardcover bestsellers at 75 percent off original prices and the sale tables that we add products to every day.

If you love books (and who doesn't), then come see us soon at I Love Books Bookstore in the Fort Henry Mall near JCPenney. We're here to help and to serve you seven days each week.
