Eastman to hold emergency preparedness drill

From staff reports • Nov 2, 2018 at 6:00 PM

KINGSPORT — Eastman’s Kingsport site will conduct its annual emergency preparedness drill Saturday, Nov. 3.

This is a drill held each year by Eastman in collaboration with area emergency responders as part of the company’s commitment to the safety of its employees and communities, Eastman officials said in a release.

This drill will be held from 9 a.m.-noon at Eastman’s Toy F. Reid Employee Center and in the adjacent Eastman parking lot.

Eastman said near neighbors to this area may hear or see sirens from emergency vehicles participating in the drill, as well as other activities that are typical of simulated emergency response scenarios. Such activity will be part of the drill and there is no cause for alarm, company officials said in the release.
